Bishop Mambo believes that Zambians are being exploited at Zambezi Portland Cement

The board member of the Zambezi Portland Cement factory has presented a concern regarding the state of affairs at the Zambezi Portland Cement Factory. A dramatic change took place at the premise of the ZPC on April 7, 2015 when the Ventriglia family surrounded the premise of the factory and took over its management in ‘Mafia Style’. Since then it has been a mayhem.

The month of May was full of worries for the employees of ZPC. After the change of management, the employees were not given any salary for the month of April and were asked to obtain the same from the Finance Bank Chairman, Dr. Mahtani. When this news was circulated in all over Africa, they culprits were quick to conceal their crime by announcing that they would increase the wages of the existing employees in the factory.

In 2012, the Ventriglias were deported from Ndola on account of mismanagement and ill-treating the employees. Bishop Mambo believes that their return to Ndola is politically motivated as deportation cannot be lifted with a short period of time. It was the influence of power and money, which it possible for the Ventriglia family to make a comeback. Since their arrival, it has been days of worries, embarrassment and suffering for the employees of the Zambezi Portland Cement.
