The Chairman of Finance Bank Zambia, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has vacated his seat because of a hostile attack from the Ventriglia family. The latter have ensured that Dr Rajan Mahtani remains aloof from challenging the infamous takeover of the Zambezi Portland Cement Factory on April 7, 2015.
Reliable sources suggests that Kaizer Zulu, Presidential Political Affairs assistant, has been heavily funded by the Ventriglias with a view to get Rajan Mahtani arrested on a charge which previously dropped in his name under a ‘Nolle Prosequi’ in 2012.
Before the arrest took place, Dr. Mahtani stepped down from the designation of the Chairman Finance Bank Zambia and the same has seat is now occupied by Mr. William Boli Nyirenda. The present case of Dr. Mahtani’s arrest is similar to that of in 2012 where Rupiah Banda and other Government officials were heavily funded to get the former Finance Bank Chairman arrested. However, with the prevalence of justice he was released for a bail of K 25, 000.
This is one of the most shameful events that took place in Zambia. The Ventriglias are spreading corruption and are using the Government machinery according to their own benefit. Nevertheless, one should always remember that the truth can be concealed, but not erased!
