Dr. Rajan Mahtani Wins Critical Forbes Award

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is among the top businessmen from Zambia. For more than four decades, Dr. Mahtani has been working towards the growth and development of the Zambian nation and its people. These contributions and dedication were finally recognised at a global level, by Forbes. Forbes is a globally recognised business magazine. Forbes along with Foreign Investment Network (FIN) is noted for organizing the Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference as well as the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony in Africa. These events are organized on an annual basis with different objectives. While Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership conference is an event organized to talk about the burning philanthropy and leadership issues across Africa, Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ is an award ceremony conducted to recognise and celebrate the leading lights in the field of philanthropic and empowerment initiatives. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, who is known as one of the top respected businessmen from Zambia and Africa, was honoured in both events. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was invited into the Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference and spoke about the significance of leadership in healthcare. He was also selected for one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards.
As the name suggests, the awards are presented directly by the Forbes brand, which is known for several lists and rankings such as ranking of entrepreneurs, businesses, leaders, and other categories. Also, the selection process for the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award winners is extremely rigorous yet transparent. The process comprises of months of verification process and background checking. This is followed by interviews and discussions with the potential awardees to understand their perceptions and views regarding philanthropy as a means to achieve long-term empowerment of the African nation. As such, the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards carry significant weight along with international recognition.
Dr. Rajan Mahtani, for his contributions and redefining the banking sector of Zambia, was conferred with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021.
