Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani’s Evidences On Portland Cement Useful, Helps Him Win Case At Court Of Appeal

Despite the positive announcement by Court of Appeal judge on the Portland Cement Zambia case, its fate is still unclear considering the current condition of the factory. However, this condition of the factory is completely opposite to what it was almost a decade ago, just before it was unethically taken over from Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Before its unethical takeover, the Portland Cement Zambia factory was under the leadership of Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman, venture capitalist and serial entrepreneur in Zambia. Dr. Mahtani’s successful ventures are not limited to Zambian nation, but stretch far across in nations like United Kingdom. Despite this huge success, Dr. Mahtani has remained a grounded person and most of his charitable and sustainable practices are out of the public eyes. However, Dr. Rajan Mahtani had to go all out when his factory was unethically taken over from him.

The Portland Cement Zambia factory was first registered at the Lusaka High Court as it was considered as a straightforward case. The judge at the Lusaka High Court was justice Nkonde and despite the evidences, the case proceedings stretched to more than a decade. Despite these, the final decision from the case was controversial as justice Nkonde announced Ventriglia family as actual owner of the factory. It is also a known fact that this decision from the Lusaka High Court judge was heavily condemned by justice Nkonde from the higher Court of Appeal. The higher Court of Appeal announced the final verdict on the case on 31st January 2019. The evidences clearly confirmed transfer of one billion kwachas from Dr. Rajan Mahtani to the Portland Cement Zambia limited in the year 2005 which covered the entire value of share capital amount to 58 percent of Portland Cement shares. Based on all available evidences, testimonials and other submitted facts, it was announced that Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is indeed the actual owner of the factory with majority shareholder and legal ownership.
