All of these companies are also known for their focus towards the less privileged sections of the society. Despite these achievements and being one of the rare business people with numerous charitable and philanthropic activities under his name, he is still tested by the law as well as by the conspirators and jealous individuals and groups.
This case pertains to the Portland Cement Zambia, a noted cement manufacturing factory in Zambia. The factory was established and run under Dr. Mahtani’s leadership and was success for a period with high production volume and above industry average compensation and salaries. However, things have changed since the takeover of the factory, the court case for the legal takeover of the cement factory. This case has been running for almost 10 years and is easily considered as among the longest running high-profile corporate cases in Zambia.
Just a few months back, a new and positive announcement was made by the judge currently handling the case. As per this announcement, the case hearing is closed and both parties were requested to submit their evidences based on which, final verdict was supposed to be announced. However, the final verdict was shocking as it was given against Dr. Mahtani’s claims. It was a clear case of misdirected judgment and to refute this, Dr. Mahtani has now appealed to the higher court of Zambia with his evidences which were previously ignored.
