Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a noted businessman in Zambia. Over the years, he has successfully established various businesses and companies across the nation. Some of his most famous establishments are Mahtani Group of Industries and Finsbury Investments Limited. He is also the legal owner of the Zambezi Portland Cement but is fighting with the Ventriglias for its ownership. As per the claim, the Ventriglias have illegally taken over the cement factory. This event occurred nine years back and since then, a fight has been going on at the Lusaka High Court for the legal rights of the factory.
The latest announcement made by Judge handling this case at the Lusaka High Court has definitely given worries to the Ventriglias. They are completely aware of the fact that there are no evidence to support their claim. They have claimed that the shares owned by Dr. Rajan Mahtani of the Zambezi Portland are not paid for. However, Dr. Rajan Mahtani have shared signed shareholder agreements with the judge that clearly indicates that he holds 58 percent shares of the factory that are completely paid for. As a result of their lack of evidence, the Ventriglias have many times tried to discredit Dr. Mahtani. One of their strategies was to accuse him of arm-twisting a shareholder. However, Dr. Mahtani says the claim is rubbish as he will not gain anything from arm-twisting just one shareholder. Furthermore, audit reports from independent auditors clearly prove that the factory was established under joint venture partnership and Dr. Mahtani was listed as a joint venture partner while the other members were just shareholders.
From the above events, it is clear that Dr. Rajan Mahtani is the sole owner of the factory and rightfully deserves so. It is time for the factory to give the right judgment.
